Step by step

Below you can see the full process: from location and arrival to your ride and returning the bikes.

Step 5

On the way

Most of all, enjoy the ride. Around Het Hulsbeek and throughout Twente, you will find beautiful routes and a lot of varied forest and countryside sections.

If you run into a problem with the bike during your ride, first use the emergency kit if possible. If you cannot continue, lock the bike properly and email us your location together with a short explanation of the problem.

MTB Twente is an unmanned service. We will try to think along where possible, but immediate assistance or pickup on the way cannot be guaranteed.

Step 4

Before you ride

Before you leave, always check whether the saddle is at the right height. It rides more comfortably and is also better for your knees.

The emergency kit contains an Allen key that allows you to adjust the saddle easily. Loosen the saddle, adjust the height, and then tighten everything firmly again.

If you are sitting on the saddle and can just touch the ground with one toe, the height is usually about right.

Step 3

Accessories

Helmets are also available with the mountain bikes. Wearing a helmet is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended.

The helmets are grouped by size:

White = extra small
Yellow = S / M
Black = M / L

Please also take an emergency kit. It contains, among other things, an Allen key for the saddle, a bike pump, a puncture repair kit, and a multitool.

Step 2

Arrival

After your reservation, you will receive a personal pickup code by email. You can also find this code later on the Reservation page.

Enter the code on the lock and then press the lock icon in the bottom right corner. If the code is correct, you will hear a beep and see a green light. After that, you can open the lock.

The code is date- and time-bound. This means it only works on the day of your booking and only between 08:00 and 20:00.

You will use the same process again later when returning the bikes.

Step 1

Location

MTB Twente is located in Oldenzaal, close to Het Hulsbeek. Your confirmation email contains the exact pickup location.
